With two and a half weeks to go until my due date I am going into nesting mode. I totally feel like I can’t bring a new baby home to the disaster that is my current home. I feel that more strongly about the mess that I call my van. Aside from treating my van like a giant purse on wheels it also transports three little girls who apparently are capable of making a mess anywhere, anytime. So I got this overwhelming desire to clean (and I mean CLEAN) my van. I removed the seats, windexed, and Mr. Cleaned, vacuumed and carpet cleaned the whole thing. After that was finished I decided to be proactive and make a few kid’s car organizers. I did this in an attempt to keep the van clean and give the kids a place to keep a few activities for our longer trips. I would like to point out that I am fully aware that they will only work if the kids actually put their items in the organizer but for the time being I am going to live with my head in the clouds and believe that they will.
I had some flannel on hand for a different project that I will be working on so I let my girls each pick the pattern they liked. They don’t go together so my van could possibly look like an eyesore on the inside but at least it will be a clean and organized eyesore. Here are the fabrics the girls chose:
So the finished products turned out pretty well despite the lack of a pattern or much experience on my part.
